From May 8 to 10, 2025, the city of Florence will host the Festival of Europe, a key event dedicated to promoting European values, active citizenship, and the milestones of EU-funded programmes. Among the central features of the festival is the Erasmus+ INDIRE Space, located in Piazza della Repubblica, offering a vibrant hub of information, interaction, and celebration.
This year’s edition is particularly significant as it marks several important anniversaries: 20 years of eTwinning, 10 years of EPALE (the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe), and 100 years of INDIRE, Italy’s National Institute for Documentation, Innovation and Educational Research.

The festival programme includes a wide range of free public events such as thematic workshops, round tables, hands-on activities, artistic performances, and live music. These events aim to engage citizens of all ages, with a special focus on young people, educators, and professionals involved in European programmes.
The Erasmus+ INDIRE team will be available on-site to share information, answer questions, and highlight the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Programme in the fields of education, training, youth, and sport.
This celebration is part of a broader effort to strengthen the sense of European identity and to raise awareness about how EU-funded initiatives continue to shape lives, foster cooperation, and build a more inclusive and connected future.
