The PREVIEW Project “Promoting Resilience and Employability in university students through Internships for futurE Work” has been funded by Erasmus+, the EU programme devoted to education and training.
This three-year project aims to promote innovative online learning and teaching practices to train university students and graduates on the skills needed to address the challenges arising from the digital age.

Join the Preview Project Remote Internships!

We are excited to announce that our project is now in the preparation and implementation phase of the remote internships. We are looking for students and graduates, university and company tutors to join us in this innovative experience.

What's Happening?

For Students and Graduates:

  • 100 Remote Internship Opportunities: Students engage in internships within the fields of tourism and cultural heritage.
  • Skill Development: Gain essential real-world experience and skills for remote work, improving both their online and offline abilities.

For University and Company Tutors:

  • Training Courses: We will train at least 50 university and company tutors to develop the necessary skills for managing remote internships and blended learning experiences.
  • Platform Utilization: Learn to use our dedicated platform to facilitate and coordinate remote internships.

How Will It Work?

  • Preparation Phase: We will organize comprehensive training sessions for university and company tutors to equip them with the skills required to manage and support remote internships.
  • Implementation Phase: Students, alongside their tutors, will engage in remote internships, using the platform to guide and support the process.
  • Real-World Experience: Students will enhance their professional skills and gain valuable experience in their field of study through innovative remote internship methods.
  • Erasmus+ Open Badge: Upon completion, students will receive recognized certification, validating their acquired skills and knowledge.

Service Design Methodology laboratory in Salamanca

The Service Design Methodology laboratory, organized jointly by CNR ISMed (Italy) and the University of Salamanca (Spain) under the Preview Project, took place at the Faculty of Education of the Instituto Universitario de Ciencias de la Educación (IUCE) in Salamanca from February 27th to March 2nd, 2023.

On February 27th, participants engaged in Lab1, focusing on establishing project foundations and drawing inspiration from diverse sources. In Lab2 on February 28th, attention shifted inward as attendees refined their insights and ideation skills, culminating in prototyping exercises to test and refine their ideas. Julia Skupchenko shared examples of successful work with remote interns completed during the Lockdown Economy project in 2020-2022.

March 1st saw the continuation with Lab3, which addressed the practical aspects of modeling and prototyping. The workshop concluded on March 2nd with Lab4, where participants were prepared for real-world implementation by developing roadmaps, fostering partnerships, and addressing common challenges. Throughout the intensive workshop series, participants acquired valuable knowledge and practical skills essential for navigating service design projects effectively.

The Preview Project MOOCs

Five MOOCs are available on the Preview Learning/Teaching Hub to enable platform users (e.g., students, graduates, academic staff, university tutors, and company mentors) to acquire relevant skills and competencies for effective work in the digital realm.

MOOC by CNR ISMed

Service Design Methodology - The Service Design Methodology course is designed to provide participants with the tools and skills needed to create innovative and user-centered services. Through a combination of theoretical lectures, practical exercises, and case studies, students will learn how to identify user needs, develop service prototypes, and test and refine their designs.
By following a human-centered approach, participants will learn how to create services that are not only functional and efficient, but also enjoyable and meaningful for users. Our course designed by experienced instructors will guide students through each step of the design process, helping them to develop a deep understanding of service design principles and techniques. Upon completion of the course, participants will have the knowledge and confidence to apply service design methodology in a variety of industries and settings.

Project Management - The Project Management course is meticulously designed to equip participants with advanced tools and skills that significantly enhance the efficacy and success of remote internships.
Participants will develop competencies in defining and self-monitoring the scope, objectives, and deliverables of their internship projects. This includes creating detailed project plans and setting measurable goals. The course will train participants to proficiently use various project management tools and collaboration platforms such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. These tools are essential for facilitating real-time interaction, coordination, and efficient workflow management in a remote setting.
Through practical exercises and real-world applications, participants will refine their communication strategies and time management skills. This includes learning how to effectively allocate time, prioritise tasks, and maintain clear, consistent communication with team members and supervisors.

MOOC by USAL

Digital Competences for Remote Internships - The MOOC on Digital Competences for Remote Internships offers comprehensive training on essential skills required to excel in a virtual work environment. The course includes proficiency in basic computer skills, the importance of building and managing a professional digital identity and participating in online communities relevant to one's field of study or work. Additionally, the course covers safe internet navigation, providing knowledge about online security and protection of personal data, the use of collaborative tools to optimize workspaces is another key area of focus and the understanding of digital literacy. These competencies are crucial for effectively performing and excelling in remote work settings.

Soft Skills for Remote Internships - The MOOC on Soft Skills for Remote Internships focuses on essential interpersonal and self-management abilities for virtual work. It emphasizes leadership, stressing clear communication, support, and team unity to enhance productivity in dispersed environments. The course promotes critical thinking and collaboration for problem-solving and highlights the importance of commitment, including meeting deadlines and maintaining regular communication.
Teamwork is crucial, encouraging active participation in virtual meetings, respecting diverse perspectives, and adapting to different communication styles. The course also addresses digital communication skills, fostering active listening and empathy, and covers organization and time management, teaching participants to structure workflows, prioritize tasks, and use productivity tools effectively. This course aims to equip participants with the necessary soft skills to excel in remote internships.

Socio-Emotional Competences for Remote Internships - The MOOC on Socio-Emotional Competences for Remote Internships develops skills to manage emotions, build relationships, and handle social interactions. It emphasizes self-care through exercise, healthy eating, sleep, and stress management. The course addresses anxiety management with mindfulness and relaxation techniques, and coping with loneliness through social engagement. It fosters work engagement, promoting belief in one's abilities to face challenges and take risks, and builds confidence for assertive decision-making. Finally, it highlights active involvement in activities, reflecting motivation in personal and professional spheres.

Fifth Preview Project meeting in Naples

The 5th Meeting of the Preview Project was held in Naples, Italy on May 29th and 30th, 2023. Hosted at the CNR ISMed headquarters, the meeting convened to review the outcomes of the Focus Groups conducted by partner universities such as the Università degli Studi di Sassari, Academia de Studii Economice din Bucuresti, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli Üniversitesi, and Universidad de Salamanca.
Additionally, CNR ITD presented the Preview platform on the agenda. AlterContacts and Adi Harghita shared their input to the results of the survey that was run to understand what would be the perfect remote internship for a student, a university representative, and a company that hosts it. Discussions revolved around the finalized version of the Remote Internship Blueprint, shaped by the insights gathered from the recent Focus Groups and the survey.
